How you will help us create value together: As a Corporate Accounting Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the Corporate Consolidations team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work with junior and senior members of the accounting teams in Milwaukee and Chicago, as well as network with senior leaders. This role may also interact with other Komatsu professionals globally in various functional areas. Activities will include providing day to day support on tasks such as assisting with financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting month-end accounting processes. This position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee’s Harbor District! The target start date for this role is Spring 2023 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2023 school semester. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year. Key Job Responsibilities Generate financial reports from SAP Assist with the global consolidation process including communicating and financial reporting Roll forward financial reporting workbooks in preparation for month close Prepare and post month-end accounting entries Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations accurately and timely to substantiate the account balances and investigate and resolve any reconciling items Prepare ad-hoc financial reports, analysis, and support special projects as requested by management Participate in process improvement projects that help drive department goals and objectives Qualifications We Are Looking For Basic Qualifications: Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in accounting from an accredited college or university Junior, Senior level student in good academic standing Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks Strong written and verbal communication skills Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principals Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word Experience working and/or interacting with professionals globally and in various functional areas Ability to demonstrate highest business ethics and professionalism in maintaining corporate confidentiality What Makes Komatsu's Intern Program Unique The Milwaukee Internship Program is rooted in community, collaboration, and innovation.
