Intern Responsibilities May Include
Become fully immersed into the operations of a life insurance company by working in underwriting, policy administration, the call center, and claims.
Be assigned an operational excellence project and work alongside a business process engineer to deliver process improvement initiatives across one of the life insurance operations functional areas.
Interact and coordinate with other departments to gain an understanding of the innerworkings of a life insurance company and how each team meets organizational objectives
Complete professional development assignments
Report out on operational excellence project results
Communicate via written correspondence or email to internal and external customers
Intern Requirements & Qualifications
Qualifying majors in an academic area related to financial services or insurance, such as finance, data analytics, business, or related majors
Currently a Junior or Senior enrolled at Harris-Stowe State University
A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 GPA scale
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Ability to learn Life Operations business
Good collaborative and relationship-building skills
Energetic and eager to tackle new projects
