JOB INFORMATION
Viking Electric's Summer Internship Program is a 10 to 12-week program that exposes our interns to the Electrical Distribution industry and how Viking Electric operates within the industry to provide value to our customers. Interns will learn Viking Electric’s full business model by spending time with different teams throughout the organization such as our warehouse, operations, logistics, sales, marketing, purchasing, accounting/finance, HR, and senior leadership teams. By the end of the internship program interns will understand where their skills and experience can fit within the organization as well as a potential career path in our exciting industry with Viking Electric and Sonepar. Internship Responsibilities Learn and gain a high-level understanding of Viking Electric’s systems and processes that are used to provide services and solutions to our customers and fulfill the day-to-day operations of the Viking Electric locations. Gain product and application knowledge of materials and projects sold by Viking Electric in the course of working with Viking Electric managers and associates and customers at our counter locations Work with account manager and account representative sales teams in various markets to understand how they provide service and solutions through building relationships with their customers. Work with the marketing & materials teams to learn how Viking Electric maximizes sales and profitability through a detailed knowledge of the marketplace, the competition and the needs/wants of the customer Execute the structured professional training plan laid out by the internship coordinator by actively participating in online and in-person training opportunities, informational seminars, business meetings and job shadowing. Work with fellow summer interns and a variety of Viking Electric associates to complete an assigned internship project and present your project findings to select Viking Electric’s managers and strategic leadership team.
