AWARD INFORMATION
Scholarships offered to children of International Brotherhood of Teamsters members (in good standing). The $10,000 prizes are renewed each year.A one-year scholarship is also given to a qualified undergraduate mechanical or architectural engineering student who is enrolled in a post-secondary institution within ASHRAE Region IV's boundaries (North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia) or who has graduated from a high school there and satisfies the general requirements outlined above.Full-time undergraduate engineering or pre-engineering students pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in a subject that has historically served as a preparation program for the HVAC&R profession at a school are eligible for scholarships.Below is a list of additional requirements for each regional scholarship.Candidates must achieve at least one of the following requirements: have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 is the highest; or, rank in the top 30% of their class.The curriculum is accredited by either the Consejo de Acreditacion de la Ensenanza de la Ingenieria (CACEI) www.cacei.org or the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) www.abet.org at the university, which also has a recognized ASHRAE student section.Official high school transcript and proof of enrollment in a post-secondary institution must be submitted by college freshman whose grades are not available by the application deadline. Send the transcript by mail.The use of photocopies is not permitted.Three signed letters of recommendation: one each from a current or former employer, a faculty member, and a character reference (other than a family member).If the university has an ASHRAE student chapter on campus, one of the three letters of reference might come from the branch's faculty adviser.$1,000 rewards each time (non-renewable).For additional information, go visit the scholarship website.
